Candy Crush Saga 4+

So I have been playing Candy Crush since it was first released! Back then it was a fun and easy game, and it was fair between the new & older players, and I played it every day, having lots of fun. Until, I took a break from the game and game back. Everything was normal for me, however, my cousin was going to join the CandyCrush Community that exact day, when she joined, she played a few levels and she was instantly showered with boosts, lives, unlimited lives and she kept getting notifications of her getting more and more boosts, lives, etc. We both though this was extremely unfair because when I joined, I did not have the luxury items she did when I joined the game. I don’t know how, but with the help of my family, I am really close to completing Candy Crush and excitedly waiting for more levels! I am writing this review to say it was not fair! Please try giving us older players some good items in the next update!!!

This game has been completely overhauled in the past 12 months, so it is best to ignore any older reviews.
A lot of changes have been made, which have upset many long standing players. Essentially this game now requires wise and strategic use of boosters and gold bars to succeed. It no longer lets players pass some levels without these. So the old strategy to wait for a "lucky board" no longer works and if you have run out of boosters you will be stuck on one level for weeks, making it mind numbingly boring to play the higher levels.

However, Candy Crush can still be great fun for new players and I continue to enjoy playing it.
To enjoy Candy Crush you need to understand and embrace how the game is manipulated by King. The levels are pre determined by the candies that drop from the top, which is never random. The events to earn gold or boosters are different for each new player and are designed to entice players to first love the game and become addicted, then to spend their gold bars and boosters and eventually spend real money. Key to enjoying Candy Crush is to see through the manipulations and understand how to use the different events to gain gold and boosters and then to use these wisely to pass the most difficult levels. This takes experience and a keen eye for pattern recognition, so this game is not for everybody.

This is going to be a mostly critical review, because there’s really not much I enjoy about it at this point. It’s a game to play when I’m bored, an app to open for the daily gift. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve played for a few days consecutively then neglected the game entirely for something else. There’s just not enough in the game to keep someone interested when you get into the thousands territory of levels. There needs to be more events and more chances to win in events, because it’s ridiculous to insist that you have to get sugar stars 10x and whatnot just to win a 1 hour booster. The amount of things that pop up when you open the app and have to vigorously tap through is annoying. Getting rid of the spin to win when you lose a game was a mistake, obviously a money ploy. Another thing is the beanstalk. You lose all your winnings to see that you can try again in another 24 hours which isn’t the case, you’ll get another chance in a week or two. I’m aware of how nitpicky parts of this review will seem, I’m very bored and I like to complain, hopefully this is all taken on board. One thing I do currently like about the game is booster bot, I don’t think it’s insanely generous to compensate for the things I’ve complained about but it’s a consistent positive thing nonetheless, maybe that’ll stop a few more children from screaming at their parents to buy them stuff on this game.
