AIMP

Supported formats are CDA, .AAC, .AC3, .APE, .DTS, .FLAC, .IT, .MIDI, .MO3, .MOD, .M4A, .M4B, .MP1, .MP2, .MP3, .MPC, .MTM, .OFR, .OGG, .OPUS, .RMI, .S3M, .SPX, .TAK, .TTA, .UMX, .WAV, .WMA, .WV, .XM, .DSF, .DFF, MKA, AA3, AT3, OMA, and .WebM,.MPEG-DASH.

AIMP is able to load the entire file into RAM to ensure continuous uninterrupted playback. This feature is particularly useful on devices with lower specifications.

Audio Converter

The integrated Audio converter is accessed from MENU -> Utilities -> Audio Converter or by clicking Ctrl+K. A new window will pop up which is the converter interface.

Using the converter is very easy, you must first add audio files to convert them by clicking on the + symbol in the upper right corner of the window. After selecting the desired format, you can choose to change the file name and location.

At the time of writing this review, the converter supports conversion between these formats: APE, FLAC, MP3, SV8 MusePack, OGG Vorbis, Opus, WAVE, WavPack, and WMA.

Sample rate, channel type, mode, and bitrate can be adjusted before beginning the conversion.

AIMP customization

AIMP can be highly personalized with custom plugins and skins.

Plugins

One of the main reasons to love AIMP is the support of plugins, which extend the basic functionality of the player and bring new features. The user can download plugins from a page dedicated to plugins on the official website.

You can install new plugins after downloading them by going to MENU -> Plugins then clicking on Install, choose the file then it will be automatically installed.

Skins

The look and feel of AIMP can be changed by installing a new skin from the official website.

To install the new skin go to MENU -> Skin, then click on install and choose the file you download and the new skin will be installed automatically.
